Westfield Culver City Exterior / Interior LED Lighting Upgrade

The lighting retrofit of Westfield Culver City (Culver City, California) included the 3-level parking garage and entire interior of the mall. For the interior renovation of the mall, over 2,800 interior lighting fixtures were upgraded to LED.

The parking garage overhaul included over 1,000 fixtures that were upgraded to LED tubes and fixtures. The main parking garage was running their lighting 24/7 creating even more importance for proper energy management. The new garage fixtures are controlled by occupancy sensors so that in low traffic times of the day, lights can dim until movement is detected. The system uses PML for motion controls, dimming, and daylight harvesting. Overall, the LED retrofit reduced the energy in the parking structures by 68% compared to their pre-existing lighting system.

After installation, WLS continued to work with management to implement more aggressive energy savings programming and management that resulted in an additional estimated 180,000kWh reduction.
